Queen Anne School

Science Department

Philosophy Statement

Through a course of study beginning in middle school and ending with the successful completion of the upper school program, the Queen Anne School Science Department prepares students for success in college and life in the 21st century. The Science Department faculty undertakes the dual task of encouraging scientific exploration through use of both traditional and contemporary scientific methods and providing students exposure to the moral and philosophical issues brought about by today’s scientific discoveries. Students learn the main concepts of physics, chemistry, and biology, prepare to respond intelligently to scientific issues, and develop the skills needed for future learning and discovery.
